History

  • Hamish Somerville, the primary investor in SinkroInks has 40 years experience in liquid inks for packaging.
  • In 1973 Mr. Somerville was a primary founder of QC Colors ltd.
  • This UK packaging ink start-up went on to become the largest supplier of flexible packaging inks in the UK prior to being acquired by Manders Holdings PLC in 1989.
  • Mr. Somerville  subsequently became managing director of Manders Liquid Inks until 1992 when he bought out the Manders North American Liquid Ink operation from Manders Holding, through his investment company Pergola International Holdings.
  • Manders North American Liquid Ink was renamed Kromacorp which, as a packaging ink specialist, prospered in North America, Europe and Asia.
  • In 2000  Kromacorp sold its North American and European ink operations.
  • Pergola then pursued newer technology vehicles such as metasheen and high technology coatings in the laser, photonics and conductive areas as well as establishing Helia reaserch at the forefront of optical effects R&D.
  • The Kromacorp Asia packaging ink company continued to prosper in the Asian market place.
  • In April of 2006 Kroma China changed its name to SINKRO Ink.
  • In October 2006 SINKRO USA opened in Cincinnati OH to provide a full service technical and production facility.
  • January 2007 SINKRO Ink opened a primary R&D center near Livingston Scotland.
  • March 2009 SINKRO China opens an entirely new production facility in Qingdao PRC.
  • April 2009 SinkroUK entered the European market place as a manufacturer of liquid inks.
  • June 2009 SINKRO US opens an entirely new production facility in Cincinnati Ohio.
